Big news about SMS
Re: Big news about SMS
Yeah I was just thinking about that. I will investigate it!
Re: Big news about SMS
Tested on Retevis RT-3S.
I have some problem using new browser firmware update system, so i used traditional one via CPS: seems to work fine.
For testing, i tried to upload same firmware on my TYT MD-9600 by renaming the file: no success, radio won't switch on, obviously.
So i cannot test effective working mode since i have only one compatible radio.
Thanks for great job

Re: Big news about SMS
Copy that.
For your info- renaming the .bin never works. I think that the radio's have a different encryption. And the MD9600 is also a different source code (but stm32). If you can give me your MD9600 version number, I will build it for you:)

Re: Big news about SMS
I updated my two UV380 radios with the latest version, the system works, but only in direct transmission, messages do not pass through the BM network, as standard I have ETSI.

Re: Big news about SMS
Wow! Sending works on my Baofeng DM-1701. Maybe I try to get a second ID because the AT878 has other sms config. So I get cryptic results on it.
For testing this may help (German version) http://wiki.bm262.de/doku.php?id=servicenummer
So as long I understand it’s not possible to send SMS direct to the ID in BM network; only by the SMSC service number: <callsign> message.
For this it would be incredible to have a button with [Pos 1] functionality in the editor. And maybe one with [Ins] too.
In selfcare I selected „Motorola“

Re: Big news about SMS
the "german" SMSC service number(s) suppose to work international.

Thanks for the report!
Aa stated in the post: Tx for BM is working. Decoding sms from brandmeister is much harder.
